Since co-founding the company in 1986 with husband Ron, she has taken responsibility for the non-engineering side of the business, overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations.
Starting out as a two-person shop, Tierra West has grown to a firm of thirteen professional and clerical staff, all looking to Donna’s exceptional business and organizational skills in the accounting, planning, communications and Human Resources departments.
Donna, a native of New Mexico, moved to Albuquerque in 1980, after beginning her career in the accounting department with the City of Roswell. Soon recognizing her talents, Donna moved from her role as part-time file clerk to key responsibilities for the City’s Accounts Payable, Receivable and Payroll departments.
In 1986 Ron , and his wife Donna started Tierra West. Providing services throughout Albuquerque, and around the state New Mexico and Texas, Tierra West’s projects have include a variety of developments from small in-fill developments to the planning and design of large new community subdivisions, planned unit development projects with regional impacts, as well as commercial and industrial projects.
Donna and Ron met when she moved to Albuquerque. They were married in the fall of 1981 and together they have created a true partnership in every sense of the word, for 24 years. The partnership extends from their unique business relationship to their home-life, having raised two sons, both of whom are now grown. Though not affiliated with his parents’ company, one son has followed in their footsteps as a building project manager in Las Vegas.
Tierra West has provided me with excellent civil engineering work for my 200+ unit market rate new apartment projects in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
